Episode 158: Small-Batch Baking

It’s not only a new year, it’s a new decade, and Stefin and Andrea are kicking things off with a slate of January shows to help you indulge after the excess of the holidays … in (Preheated-style) moderation. Small-batch bakes won’t sacrifice any flavor or fun in the kitchen, but will make smaller portions. So whether you’re a college student in a dorm, or simply the only sweet tooth in your family, we hope you’ll enjoy these downsized desserts! Can’t wait? Try Cookie Dough for One to get you in the mood!

Heads up: You’ll need smaller baking dishes later this month: 5″x7″Pyrex (or similar, oven-safe brand) glass storage containers, and mini-loaf pans are both called for in the weeks ahead. Don’t have these sizes? Consider checking out the disposable aisle at your market, or the baking aisle at your local thrift store.

This Week’s Bake Along: Pecan Sticky Buns from Dessert for Two

First up: A petite portion of Pecan Sticky Buns from Dessert for Two. If the calorie count is to be believed, there’s nothing “small” about this small-batch bake! Andrea is jazzed because she has all the ingredients in her pantry, and is a huge fan of sticky buns. Stefin is thrilled to pull out her jumbo muffin tin, and loves the Preheated tradition of making yeast rolls in January.

Use it Up!

Let these clever uses for your leftovers help you waste not, want not in 2020. (All mentioned in the episode.)
