Review: Extra Tall Extra Fluffy Japanese Soufflé Pancakes from Iamafoodblog.com

Hopes were high that these Instagram-darling pancakes (inspired by the Gram Café) would make mornings extra special in both Olympia and London. Sadly, though, the only thing extra was the frustration. Andrea did find her universal pan lid to be helpful. But both hosts struggled with the technique, and weren’t thrilled with the flavor after putting in a lot of time and effort. They’re anticipating ordering a batch, ready made, at the Gram Café as soon as possible, but until then, think this pancake is one that’s best left to restaurant chefs.

This Week’s Bake Along: Black Sesame Cookies from JustOneCookbook

This week’s bake along is Black Sesame Cookies from Nami at JustOneCookbook. The hosts like the weights and measures, thoughtfully written recipe, and variations on when to add the seeds, as well as how thick to slice your cookies. Plus, Andrea is thrilled to find another slice ‘n’ bake cookie (her 2020 obsession). Stefin found her black sesame seeds on Amazon; be sure to take note of the quantity — it’s much more than found in a typical “spice rack” jar. Bake up this sweet and savory shortbread variation and let the hosts know what you think! Post pics to @preheatedpod on Instagram.
