This October, Andrea and Stefin are taking a walk down memory lane and revisiting some of their greatest hits in the lead up to Preheated’s monumental 200th episode on October 26. They start the show remembering some of the “amazing alliteration” that’s appeared over the last four years. From the show name itself (Preheated Podcast), to some memorable show titles (Such Sussex Success, Episode 73.5) and mini-segments (Tasty Toponyms, Episode 97), the hosts never let an original oratory opportunity pass them by.
Andrea’s Greatest Hit: Fresh Pear Pie, Episode 112
Andrea’s first greatest hit is this delicious, crowd-pleasing, and absolutely beautiful Fresh Pear Pie from Diana Rattray via The Spruce Eats reviewed during Preheated’s Third Annual Pie Month in February 2019. The hosts revisit a few of the ingredients, techniques, and even the correct etiquette for pie eating that they’ve picked up since the original air date that make this even more of a winner. Though Andrea’s “mystery of the missing pear pie” still remains unsolved, this bake remains in heavy rotation in both hosts’ kitchens, and is a great, heritage pie that’s especially flavorful in the autumn.
Listener Picks for Greatest Hits Volume 1
Listener Rebecca nominated the Bonus Babka Bake Along, the special companion episode to Episodes 116 and 117, recorded as Stefin and Andrea baked together in Stefin’s London kitchen.
